Janus Rostock works as Regional Design Director for Atkins with more than 20 years’ experience. Specialising in complex multidisciplinary projects and masterplans, he has proven expertise in a wide variety of projects including the Dubai Opera project and its district, masterplanning, low rise office buildings, high rise residential towers, hotels, education, and transport.
Having received his M. Arch from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture, Copenhagen, after having spent a year at l’Ecole d’Architecture de Paris Belleville, Paris, Rostock worked for multi award winning firms Henning Larsen Architects and KHR.
He moved to Dubai and joining Atkins in 2006, where he was part of the team delivering the Dubai Promenade and Cape Town Waterfront masterplan. In 2008 he moved back to Denmark as Associate Design Director to start up Atkins’ Architecture and Design department in Copenhagen.
Following this spell he once again returned to the UAE in 2011 and is now responsible for leading Atkins’ Middle East Architecture and Urban Design team.
Rostock has accumulated extensive international experience as the lead concept designer on projects and master plans in the U.A.E, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, India, Azerbaijan, Angola, Kenya, South Africa, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Monesh Aidasani is currently the Regional Specifications Manager for the powder coating division in Jotun. Having graduated from Mumbai University as a Chemical Engineer in 1998, Monesh has 15 years of experience in the facade and aluminium finishing industry. He has worked in the application, manufacturing of high performance powder coatings used on the facades of some of the most prestigious projects in the region. Raj Patel joined KEO International Consultants in 2001 after six years of experience with leading design rms such as Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Perkins & Will and Charles Correa. He obtained a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati in 1993 and a Master of Architecture from Yale University in 1997.
His interest in the culture and the spirit of architecture during his educational years was mixed with the realities of building mega scale projects during his professional career. Andy has over 25 years of experience in the field of Building and Construction, ranging from structural testing within the nuclear industry to fire testing. Having established the Dubai Cladding Technology Centre and Laboratory, and operated it for 10 years, he has particular knowledge of heavy structures testing and weathertightness testing of cladding, curtain walling and building envelope systems.
He has carried out many consultancy projects as a third-party specialist in the field of building envelope technology.
Andy has a long-standing association with the CIOB. He is currently the Chairman of the Dubai and Northern Emirates Center and he is also an experienced candidate mentor.

As chairman of the celebrated design firm Meyer Pienaar and Partners in South Africa and subsequently in Australia he successfully led a full spectrum of architectural and urban design projects, ranging from corporate head offices, art galleries, libraries, university facilities and civic centres to various residential typologies and hotels.
Floris joined DSA Architects International, Dubai in November 2008 after relocating from Australia and has been promoted to Deputy Managing Director, Middle East since September 2009. John is the leader of Arup’s Fire Engineering Practice in the Gulf. A Chartered Fire Safety Engineer he holds a BSc Hons in Fire Safety Engineering. He applies his expertise primarily in fire safety design, on-site implementation and handover of Aviation, Assembly and transportation projects across the built environment.
